Microchipping

Why use a Microchipping Service?DSC_6742a

We have been specially-trained to microchip your pet(s) in the comfort of your own home (Micro-ID Ltd).  This service is convenient for you and stress-free for your pet(s).  It is very important to ensure your pet cat, dog, rabbit and ferret is microchipped because if your pet is lost or stolen lost, you are far more likely to be reunited if they are microchipped.

NEWSUnder The Microchipping of Dogs (England) Regulations 2014, every dog owner in England will have to microchip their pet dog from April 2016 under plans intended to cut a rise in strays. Owners who do not comply could face fines of up to £500.

What is a microchip? How does it work?

A microchip is a permanent method of electronic identification. The chip itself is very small – about the size of a grain of rice – and is implanted subcutaneously (just under the skin) between the shoulder blades at the back of your pet’s neck. We use the modern “Mini-Chip”, which is 44% smaller than the standard chip. Each chip has a unique number that is detected using a microchip scanner. The microchip number is recorded on the MicroChip Central database registry with details about the animal and owner. Should your pet stray or become lost, vets, animal shelters and local councils can scan your pet for a microchip and contact you via the database.
